A city in rural surroundings: Dinklage is surrounded by six farmsteads (Langwege is sectioned in Langwege I and Langwege II).

Between 220 and 330 citizens live here mostly on individual farms or in some cases in smaller closed settlements (Langwege, Bünne). The farming community are of a special importance for the city. In parts settlement happened here earlier than in the core city. Lots of families who live in Dinklage now stem from the surrounding area and feel strongly connected to their old place of origin.
