Trips by bicycle or on foot seem to become a tradition. There is no better way to get to know land and people than by 'bicycle' on the numerous, entertaining tracks. Dinklage offers diverse options. Variety for eye and ear, recreation and relaxation can be found especially in and around the Burgwald area – but also on the many cycle and footpaths around Dinklage.

The most different sports facilities offer recreation and leisure time. Available are riding schools, tennis courts, squash hall, sports halls, football pitches. There is also a respective range for the friends of angling, sports shooting and archery available.

The cultural area is being formed mainly by the many clubs.

Whether for example youth music school, Kolping orchestra, MGV-Bürgerliedertafel, theatre association or adult education – they all offer diverse events.

The city's annually published event calendar holds all the details. A special attraction, well known beyond city borders is the Dinklage summer Kirmes (funfair) on the first Sunday in July and the Dinklage shooting festival end of July.

The end of the event year forms in the Advent's time the atmospheric Christmas market – also with a diverse supporting programme.
